EXPANDING ACCESS TO WORLD-CLASS CARE

In 2024 alone, Huntsman Cancer Institute hosted more than 40,000 patient visits from Utah County and adjacent areas. Patients traveled around 3.5 million miles鈥攖he equivalent of 80,000 hours of travel time鈥攖o access Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. The Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vineyard will ease the travel burden for patients in central and southern portions of the state and beyond, saving patients more than two hours of travel time per visit, or an estimated million miles per year. 

Located within minutes of the freeway and public transportation, this state-of-the-art facility will bring world-class cancer care to even more communities in Utah and the Mountain West.

Providing New Research Opportunities

Research and innovation are the signature strengths of Huntsman Cancer Institute. The Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vineyard will offer opportunities for new research programs as well as enhance our impact in existing research areas.

Planned research and education offerings:

  • Access to clinical trials to offer leading-edge cancer therapies
  • Computational oncology and data science, harnessing the power of AI to advance new frontiers in cancer discovery
  • New technologies and AI tools to prevent and treat cancers for those who live far from a major medical center
  • Conference and community engagement facilities
  • Innovation collaborations to accelerate research and development, including with Silicon Slopes and other entities
  • Student training and faculty engagement with Utah Valley 亚洲自慰视频 and Brigham Young 亚洲自慰视频 to prepare the next generation of researchers and care providers

Growing Our Workforce

Located near several higher education and technical training institutions, including and , the Huntsman Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vineyard will support workforce development, training opportunities, and hands-on learning for the next generation of scientists and health care providers throughout the region for generations to come. Phase 1A will host approximately 450 jobs across the research center and clinical care facilities when fully operational.

Meeting Community Needs

The state of Utah is experiencing a major rise in population, and Vineyard, Utah, is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. The Huntsman Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vineyard creates a rare opportunity to co-design the cancer center in this beautiful community near Utah Lake. 

This state-of-the-art, 272,000-square-foot facility includes a five-story clinical care building and a three-story research building. The buildings are connected by a community engagement and education space that will serve as a communication and innovation hub for research, education, and community participation.

This facility is 鈥淧hase 1A鈥 of the project鈥攖he first of what is anticipated to be several phases at the site. Phase 1B is anticipated to follow shortly thereafter and will bring inpatient care, a surgical center, and other resources. Planning for future services and facilities will be informed by patient and community needs.

    Construction begins on the five-story clinical care building, with multidisciplinary cancer care clinics, imaging, diagnostics, wellness and therapy services, a clinical trials lab, and more.
