  • Dr. Bartley Pickron is a recognized expert in the minimally invasive treatment of colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a Professor of Surgery at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ of Utah who specializes in colon and rectal surgery. Clinical interests include single site laparoscopic and robotic surgery as well as the implementation of enhanced recovery protocols to minimize pain and recovery following surgery.

    Following medical school at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ of South Alabama, Dr. Pickron completed his General Surgery training at Atlanta Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ of Southern California and Norris Cancer Center. Dr. Pickron joined the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ of Utah ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ Care following 10 years of practice in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

    Dr. Pickron enjoys time outdoors particularly hiking, running, and cycling. He is an avid soccer fan. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and two ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµren.

    Dr Pickron was very good, talked me through everything he was doing and seeing. So I felt very much included in what was being done. The pain from the procedure has been noticeably less than when I had previously had this procedure done.
